Stories of Solidarity I Celebrating Lunar New Year and Black History Month

Every year for the last 16 years, Get Konnected! and our partners have hosted Boston’s Most Influential Men of Color, Asian American and Pacific Islanders, and other niche lists highlighting and recognizing the talented individuals in the Boston Community. This year, we continued our tradition by highlighting the Most Influential Community Organizations in the Black and/or Asian Communities as part of our Black and Asian Solidarity Event celebrating Black History Month and Lunar New Years. The Organizations being honored tonight are ones who have: 1. Proudly Committed to Creating & Building Meaningful Communities, 2. Possesses High Aptitude for Convening Diverse Voices, and 3. Fearlessly Uplifts Diverse and Often-Overlooked Identities. Our event will additionally feature Stories of Solidarity from featured speakers. These stories were designed to highlight: 1. Fearless Solidarity/Allyship – between two identities, cultures, and communities that have more in common than meets the eye, and therefore strength by working together. 2. Personal Stories – sharing your unique experience coming into your power as a member of one or both identities and allowing others to walk with you in your journey. 3. Moments of Humanity – that models the behaviors that we should aspire to when it comes to working together towards a more inclusive and stronger community.
