Dr. Noelle N. Trent, President & CEO of the Museum of African American History | Boston & Nantucket, where she leads the region’s oldest museum dedicated to preserving and interpreting Black history and culture.
A distinguished public historian, Dr. Trent has contributed to the field in leadership roles and partnerships with the National Park Service and the Smithsonian. As the former Director of Interpretation, Collections & Education at the National Civil Rights Museum, she spearheaded landmark exhibitions and the nationally recognized MLK50 commemoration. In 2025, Boston Magazine named her one of the 150 Most Influential Bostonians.
She has been featured in The New York Times, The Boston Globe, and The Today Show. Dr. Trent holds a doctorate in U.S. History from Howard University.
