Imari Jeffries

President & CEO,
Embrace Boston

Imari K. Paris Jeffries, Ph.D., is President and CEO of Embrace, an arts, culture, and community organization advancing belonging through justice. Under his leadership, Embrace produced the monument honoring Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and Coretta Scott King on Boston Common, developed the W.E.B. DuBois Monument in Great Barrington, and is creating the forthcoming Embrace Meeting House — a civic home where culture and democracy intersect. 


Before Embrace, Imari served as executive leader at Parenting Journey, the Italian Home for Children, Jumpstart, Boston Rising, and Friends of the Children Boston. He serves as Trustee of the UMass System and on the boards of Boston Ballet and GBH. A four-time UMass Boston graduate, and a U.S. Army veteran, he lives in Boston with his family.
